I have a lot of interests in the engineering world, and it’s hard to fit them all into one curriculum or professional role. So naturally I like to do passion projects, where I can learn a new skill, be part of something cool, or just have fun. Some highlights over the last couple years:
- Portland State Aerospace Society: worked with amateur rocketry group PSAS as an industry advisor
- PSAS was where I first learned how to design PCBs, including the Camera Control board and Rocket Recovery board shown below.
- FPV Drone: My brother and I built an FPV drone to fly around our neighborhood

Camera Control Board
Overview Dates: April 2020 to May 2020 This was a board I developed for Portland State Aerospace Society. It’s main purpose was to deliver power and control signals to 9 cameras arranged in a ring. The camera ring is on a rocket titled LV3.1. My Role I received the requirements from the Avionics team, and…

FPV Drone
Overview Dates: April 2020 to June 2020 This was a project I undertook during the summer of 2020. My brother and I wanted to get into FPV Drone Racing. My brother, who is in the Air Force, would be the pilot. I, as the roboticist, would be the engineer. I collected the parts, soldered up…

Rocket Recovery Controller
Overview Dates: November 2019 to March 2020 This was a board I constructed for Portland State Aerospace Society. This board controls the electro-mechanical recovery system of the rocket LV3.1. It controls a DC motor, a linear actuator, and uses a microcontroller to do so. It also detects when the rocket’s nose cone has been separated…
